Questions & answers

Worth knowing.

How do Inheritance and Last Will differ?

In an Inheritance Vault, the everyday key can withdraw and refresh; heirs become eligible after the configured periods without a refresh. In a Last Will Vault, the everyday key can only refresh, a separate cold key can withdraw, and one heir can become eligible after the waiting period. Each arrangement has distinct access rules.

Does an heir gain exclusive access after the waiting period?

No. The waiting period opens an eligible heir’s claim path without closing owner or cold-key access. Eligible parties may then race to spend the same funds. Review the vault’s rules before funding it.

Does the locator contain my recovery phrase?

No. It contains the public information needed to identify and reconstruct the vault, without a recovery phrase or private key. It still reveals personal information about the arrangement, so share it only with the intended recipient.
